History Is in Our Hands... "Preserve America promotes cultural and natural preservation and encourages greater appreciation of our national
treasures - from monuments and buildings to landscapes and main streets. President Bush and I want every American,
especially our children,
to discover and learn about our Nation's heritage, a heritage our parents and grandparents bestowed upon us and that we continue to build upon." First Lady Mrs. Laura Bush Becoming a preservationist doesn't require
learning lots of complicated vocabulary, buying an old house, or suffering through a boring lecture.
Fun, everyday activities such as going to the movies and taking a walk are great ways to enjoy America's heritage and protect it at the same time.
We can all do our part... and volunteering is another great way for children to help preserve our rich historic and cultural heritage.
Preservation involves every aspect of America's past. Preservation cares about the homes of the rich and the poor, industrial sites and downtown
commercial districts, schools and colleges, religious sites and governmental buildings, parks and other places for recreation, rural landscapes and
structures -- just about any place that helps tell America's story and increases our shared knowledge about our Nation's past.
This site is dedicated to inspiring children to help our poor,
support our wounded veterans and become involved citizens If you'd like to help, we showcase on this site many wonderful opportunities.
