Patriotism Defined

Patriotism Defined by the Young Generation

Patriotism:
When you stand up to say the Pledge of Alliegience and you just feel proud to be in a country where you are free to be who you are. Everyone in America has ancestors that have died to protect us and make us who we are today. I'm sure everyone in America knows someone now that is overseas to protect us. Patriotism is all about the pride in America.
Everyone that is an American citizen should feel proud about the fact that you can be who you want to be here. I love this country and all those willing to fight to keep it the way it is.
by Lauren Broady

Patriotism:
It is an act and a feeling. It's when you stand up for your country and take pride in it. It's when you protect and devote yourself to your country. It's when you honor a man or woman in the military. It's when you stand in pride and joy during the National Anthem...when
you put your right hand over your heart and enjoy saying the Pledge. It's when you wake up every morning and you can breathe without fear.
by Summer Garner

Patriotism:
It's the tears that fall down a mother's cheek...
It's the empty arms of a lonely wife...
It's the unanswered questions of a little child...
It's the pride that swells as Old Glory flys...
It's the hearts that break when she's bruised and beaten...
It's the lives that have been given for her cause...
It's every American's responsibility...
It's the Love of our Great Country!
by Rachel Coughran

Patriotism:
We would not be living in the country we do today if it was not for the true patriotic Americans. The Founders who put their lives, fate, and sacred honor on the line. My idea of patriotism is understanding the concept of freedom, living and teaching it, like one who loves his/her country and supports its authority and interests. The willingness of millions of soldiers today to go to defend our home and country to keep the freedom we enjoy.
