In The Wake of Katrina Let's Stand as One The need goes on in 2007 even if the cameras are off
The following is an excerpt from a November, 2006 letter from South Louisiana:
"I am begging you to please open your hearts, not only your check books, and help these people. I live here in South Louisiana. Here is my plea: More than a year later, there are still
many people without clothes or shoes. When they left they didn't bring anything with them except the clothes on their backs. Many still don't have any work.
There is a pregnant woman with six weeks left to go who has nothing to wear. Children who are sad because they left their favorite dolls and trucks at home. If
you have anything, clothes, shoes, underwear, toys, books, etc., you can spare please send it to these families in need. They are in need of everything, physical and spiritual.
Many people are still down, disoriented, and confused. I am asking God's angels on earth to help these people, please. The things we take for granted
like toothpaste, toothbrushes, even soap are needed. If you can help, please send these items with a letter of encouragement to these families." What makes our country great is the willingness of all of us to stand as one in times of peril and in face of adversity. The loss and devastation in Louisiana and Mississippi are the loss and devastation of America. Don't ignore their desperate plea! Their suffering continues even if the TV cameras moved on... Here are some wonderful ways
you can help:
